PBIS Update We continue to focus on positive behavior in the hallways and cafeteria! The Fourth Grade and Apple Tree Lane students recently earned an extra recess for appropriate behavior in the cafeteria. We are also gearing up for our major spring event……. A trip to Manchester to watch a Fisher Cats Baseball Game. On May 12th, we will select 30 names at random to attend the 11:05 a.m. game. Oh yes, six adult chaperones will also be selected. This is one committee that I won’t have to twist arms to participate! Students who exhibit appropriate and exceptional hallway and cafeteria behavior will receive stickers and tickets which will be included in the raffle. Thanks to the North School PTA for helping to fund this wonderful event. More details to follow!!

2008-2009 Planning and Teacher Requests With the arrival of May comes the initial planning and preparation for the 2008-2009 school year. Our class assigning for current first to fourth graders begins this month. Several teachers may loop with their classes next year, and parents of students in those classes will receive information in the mail regarding this process. Grade level teachers, special educators, guidance, support services, and administration work together to form all other classes. Because of the time, effort, and knowledge of our staff, we ask that you rely on our professional judgment in placing your child. We cannot honor specific requests by parents. If you feel your child has a particular need that the present classroom teacher is not aware of, please let us know that need in writing by May 12th. Assigning close to six hundred students to classes is a difficult job at best, and honoring individual requests just cannot be done in an equitable way. Thank you for your understanding and for your cooperation!!
